Injectable Fillers or Biostimulators?
My guide towards an informed decision
As aesthetic medicine advances, patients now have more options than ever for rejuvenating their appearance. Three key categories have emerged in the world of injectables: traditional dermal fillers, innovative hybrid fillers, and injectable regenerative agents.
I would like to explore the differences between these options to help my patients make informed decisions about their aesthetic treatments.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers have been a staple in cosmetic medicine for decades. These injectable gels, typically made of hyaluronic acid (HA), are designed to add volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours.
Key features:
– Immediate results
– Primarily volume-adding
– Effects last 6-18 months on average
– Can be dissolved if needed
Hybrid Fillers
Hybrid fillers represent the next generation of injectables, combining the benefits of traditional fillers with collagen-stimulating properties. Calcium hydroxyapatite and polycaprolactone in a biocompatible gel are the main representatives of this category.
In my practice I often mix these products with a hyaluronic acid gel to increase the results and the duration of effect.
Key features:
– Immediate volumizing effect from HA component
– Long-term collagen stimulation
– Longer-lasting results (up to 18 months or more)
– Dual-action: filling and skin quality improvement
Injectable Regenerative Agents and Growth Factors
These cutting-edge treatments focus on stimulating the body’s natural regenerative processes rather than simply adding volume.
High concentration Hyaluronic acid can be injected into the dehydrated, aged skin causing long lasting hydration. This action optimizes the skin function and may result in longer term benefits.
Growth factors: PRP, PRF, Polynucleotides and Exosomes do not replace anything. Instead they act at several levels stimulating different parts of the skin to repair and regenerate. We can say that they can slow the biological clock and in many cases reverse some of the signs of ageing.
These agents are excellent in combination with other cosmetic treatments to augment the extent and longevity of results and minimize the downtime of more invasive aesthetic procedures.
In my clinic I am quite impressed with the results of exosome treatments in healing, acne, pigmentation and hair re-growth.
Key features:
– Minimal to no immediate volumizing effect ( not suitable for immediate before and after photos)
– Stimulate collagen and elastin production
– Improve overall skin quality and texture
– Results develop gradually over time
– May require multiple sessions for optimal results
The Liquid Face Lift
This is a combined approach where we are using these components together. It offers significant advantages:
-Immediate results through dermal fillers restoring the facial volume in several areas(temples, jaw line, cheeks, under the eye, naso-labial folds, marionettes)
– Gradual enhancement of skin quality over several weeks
– Comprehensive rejuvenation: Addresses multiple signs of aging simultaneously
– Enhanced results: Each component complements the others for a synergistic effect
– Natural-looking outcomes: The combination promotes the body’s own regenerative processes
– Longer-lasting effects: Exosomes and PRF may extend the longevity of result
While individual results may vary, this combination approach to a liquid face lift offers a good solution for those seeking comprehensive facial rejuvenation with minimal downtime and reasonable cost.
Choosing the Right Treatment
The best option depends on your specific needs and goals:
– For immediate volume and wrinkle reduction, traditional dermal fillers remain an excellent choice.
– If you’re looking for both immediate improvement and long-term skin benefits, hybrid fillers offer a compelling solution.
– For those focused on overall skin rejuvenation and are willing to wait for results, injectable regenerative agents may be ideal.
I hope the above information casts some light and surely we are happy to answer your inquiries, should you need additional clarification.
